What makes Sugar Sweet Cakes different?

​

Taste...Quality...and attention to detail. We take pride in every order we complete. All of our cakes, cupcakes, & other desserts are baked fresh, never frozen, & we make almost everything from scratch.

How much do you charge for your cakes?

 

We price all of our cakes individually. Prices vary depending on things like serving size, complexity of design, whether you want fondant or buttercream, ect. Please contact us for a customized quote.

Do you ship your cakes & cupcakes?

 

No sorry, we do not ship.

Do you deliver?

We do not deliver at this time. Our customers are responsible for picking up their order(s) at our location.

How do I go about placing an order?

We take orders by phone (337) 363-4032, direct e-mail (sugarsweetcakes337@yahoo.com), or on facebook.

 

When inquiring about a cake please let us know... what date & time you need this cake for, what cake & filling flavors you would like, how many people you need to feed, whether you want fondant, buttercream, or buttercream with fondant accents, whether this cake is for a birthday, shower, wedding, ect., what theme the party is going to be, & if you have any photos of a cake you have in mind?

How far in advance should I place my order?

We appreciate as much notice as possible. The sooner the better to secure your spot. Sometimes we book fast. Also, a lot of the cakes that we make require toppers and/or decorations that need to be dried for several days.

Preferably, we ask that you give us at least a 4 week advance notice.

​

However, if you have a last minute order, let us know and we may be able to squeeze you in!

Do you have a shop where we can walk in & purchase cakes?

​

No, not yet. We hope to someday open up our own shop. For now, we are by-order only.

Where are you located?

​

We are located in Bayou Chicot, Louisiana which is 7 miles North of Ville Platte.

Do you do wedding cakes?

​

Yes. At this time we do our large wedding cakes (3+ tiers) in fondant. We also offer smaller wedding cakes (1-2 tiers) in buttercream.

Is a deposit required when placing an order?
​

We do require a 50% deposit on all cake orders. Deposits are non-refundable. If you change your mind about your order after we have received your deposit, we will not offer a refund. We will only offer you a refund if we have to cancel your order.

What methods of payment do you accept?
​

We accept cash & money orders only. We are no longer accepting checks.

Do you rent cake or cupcake stands?

​

No sorry, not at this time.

Do you offer other designs, not pictured in your gallery?

 

Our designs are customized for each client. ​Our gallery shows just a sample of our work so far. Contact us today so that we can create a unique design for your special event.

What is the difference between fondant & buttercream based on appearance plus taste?

​

We often get questions similar to this one regarding the different between the two.​..

Appearance: Fondant​​ looks a lot smoother than buttercream & for us it is easier to work with, which is why we prefer to use it.​​

Taste: Vanilla fondant tastes sort of like marshmallows - it's sweet & chewy. Chocolate fondant tastes just like a tootsie roll. ​Buttercream is very rich and thick, smooth tasting, and very very sweet.​

 

We always cover our cakes in vanilla buttercream first, then put the rolled fondant on top – so you get the best of both worlds! Some people really like the taste of fondant and those who don’t generally peel it off. At Sugar Sweet Cakes almost everything is made onsite including our buttercream and all our flavors. However we do not make our own fondant – we’ve had good success with Satin Ice & Wilton fondants.​
